AFCO 6630051 F88 Forged Alum. Caliper, Staggered 1-1/4 Inch Piston, LH

This AFCO forged billet aluminum four piston race spec caliper features a staggered piston design (where the pistons are two different sizes). This makes the calipers side specific. The 1-1/4-inch and 1-3/8-inch staggered pistons keep the pads parallel to the rotor and reduce brake pad taper wear. This is done by placing the caliper so that as the rotor passes through the smaller piston it applies clamping pressure first, then the larger piston. The caliper features internal fluid crossover paths to minimize the caliper’s profile, along with billet aluminum pistons, stainless steel abutment plates, a large bridge bolt, and one-piece bleeder screws. These super strong forged axial mount racing calipers will be the center piece of your custom brake kit. Unlike a floating caliper that can flex under hard braking, a fixed mount four piston caliper provides much firmer braking since the caliper is so rigid. This puts all the brake system’s fluid pressure to work on the clamping force of the rotor via the pistons, versus losing some of that system pressure to caliper flex. They are the perfect solution for an autocross or gymkhana build, drag racing, or even street use, providing great pedal feel with this rigid fixed mounting design.
