The sensor in this unit detects when your hands are in position and dispenses water accordingly, eliminating the need to touch faucet handles and also reducing the chance of leaving a faucet running.<br><br> This faucet has a 4" solid cast brass spout with a chrome-plated finish for a sleek look and easy cleaning. A 2.2 GPM aerator provides a gentle flow with minimal splashing, and it is vandal-resistant to prevent tampering and damage.<br><br> The faucet mounts on 4" centers. One hole is used to run the 24" sensor cable from the control module to the faucet. The other is used to run a 1/2" NPSM x 1/4" NPSM, 18" stainless steel supply hose from the faucet to the control module. The control module itself comes in a water-resistant housing to provide protection against leaks, and contains the internal flow control setting switches. It can be operated using either the included 100-240VAC adapter, with (4) AA batteries, or it can be hardwired using the terminals on the back.<br><br> A thermostatic mixing valve combines incoming cold and hot water and limits the temperature of water going to the faucet better than a mechanical mixing valve, preventing scenarios where hot water overruns the cold water and causes scalding.
