To minimize the operating sounds, Amana acoustically engineered their system with enhancements that include an indoor tangential fan for quiet and even air distribution, and a two-speed indoor motor for enhanced guest comfort. Additionally, the two-speed outdoor fan allows for lower overall sound, as compared to units without this feature. The DigiSmart system is the first of its kind for the Amana brand. Compared to the energy consumption of a standard Amana brand PTAC product without DigiSmart, the DigiSmart Wireless Energy Management System for Amana brand PTACs can reduce energy costs up to 35%✧. Beyond the benefits of reduced energy consumption, the DigiSmart system can assist in monitoring unit performance and targeting maintenance. Simply stated, the DigiSmart system employs an in-room wireless thermostat and occupancy sensor connected with the push of a single button. No wiring is required. This allows you to connect all the PTACs in your building so they can be monitored from a single controller. At any time, you can tell if the unit is running, if the room is occupied and even view whether any maintenance is necessary on any of the connected PTACs. Amana PTAC unit has Room Freeze Protection that will activate the electric resistance heater when the PTAC senses temperatures of 40°F or below to keep the room from freezing when not in use.
