Beetle Bailey is an American comic strip that began its run in 1950 and has been going strong ever since by constantly changing with the times but having the beloved characters stay true to who they are. It is set in a fictional US Army military post and revolves around the characters Private Bailey, Sergeant Snorkel, Private Killer, Otto, Cookie Jowls, Brigadier General Amos Halftrack, Miss Shelia Buxley, Lieutenant Sonny Fuzz, Jackson Flap, Private Zero, and Private Plato. They have constant running gags revolving around Beetles laziness and Sergeant Snorkel's temper.
