Plant Patent #15,298. Cultivar 'Bailmer'. This Hydrangea blooms on both old and new wood, repeating reliably from early summer till fall, so late frosts don't faze it. You can expect weeks of glorious color through Zone 4 in the north with Endless Summer. This mop head begins bearing massive 8 in. to 10 in. flowers when the weather warms in summer and re-blooms into fall. The pink or blue blooms (depending on soil pH -acid for blue blooms, alkaline for pink) are splendid cut flowers either fresh or dried. Many Hydrangeas are hardy in the north, but late frosts freeze the buds and they never come into bloom, but with this beauty that fear is gone. By blooming on new growth, Endless Summer gives you color no matter how icy your spring turned out to be. It reaches 5 ft. high and 4 ft. wide, perfect for foundations or a low hedge. Happiest in partial shade, it takes more sun in the northern portion of its hardiness range and is very heat- and humidity-tolerant farther south. Keep well watered during the first few seasons.
