Heatwave is an Electric Radiant Floor Heating System by Heatizon Systems. The Heatwave floor warming mat kit includes a reversible, self-adhering floor heating mat that generates 12 watts per square foot. The complete in-floor heating system includes a 7 day, 4-event programmable GFCI thermostat that can switch 120 or 240 volts and up to 15 amps. The floor heating thermostat comes with a built-in ambient air sensor and remote in-floor temperature sensor, allowing for maximum heating flexibility. The GCFI feature adds a layer of protection to the heated floor system and is required by most US/CAN building codes. Heatwave can be installed under differing types of flooring to provide a steady, even and efficient floor heat. The radiant heating is accomplished by fully embedding the Heatwave Mat in a cement-based compound mortar, thinset and/or self-leveling compound). Heatwave is listed to be installed in wet locations provided all installation instructions are followed. At about 1/8” thick, the floor heating element causes minimal floor buildup. Once embedded in a cement-like base, Heatwave can heat under tile, stone, laminate, vinyl, or carpet. While the Heatwave system cannot be cut or shortened, a variety of sizes and voltages to accommodate many size floors. For the Heatwave heated floor mat, simply roll out the right sized heating mat to cover the desired square footage and embed in mortar prior to installing floor covering.
