PremierArt Matte Canvas is a 2:1 double weave poly/cotton canvas that is instant drying and water resistant. The bright white base has a high D-Max and extended tonal range, making this canvas ideal for wedding and portrait photography, Giclee, d cor art and fine art printing. Premier Art's unique acid free coating produces the highest D-Max of any matte canvas on the market today. With a higher D-Max comes an expanded color gamut that produces more vibrant prints. This water resistant canvas is compatible with both dye and pigment based inks on either thermal or piezo printers. When used with the popular long life pigmented ink sets on the market today, this 100% acid free poly/cotton canvas will last for many generations, under proper framing and display conditions. Image Permanence From the poly/cotton base to the acid free coating, this canvas has been engineered to be extremely stable. Matte Canvas is currently being tested by Wilhelm Imaging Research. Although no ratings are yet available, previous PremierArt products using the same technology scored extremely well in WIR testing. Coatings For the longest lasting print, the canvas must be either framed under glass or sealed with a protective coating. Since the majority of canvas prints are stretched, the choice of coating becomes very important. PremierArt Eco Print Shield has been formulated especially for this canvas and will increase the life on the image significantly, depending on the ink set used.
