Metal-detectable nylon strip brushes with rigid backing have bristles that have been treated with a metal- and x-ray-detectable compound. This allows any bristles that fall off the brush to be found and recovered so that they do not contaminate the conveyed product. The brushes' nylon bristles offer good resistance to wear and abrasion and are effective when used in wet or intermittently hot environments. Also known as metal-backed strip brushes, strip brushes with rigid backing each have densely compressed bristles that are secured in a U-shaped metal channel with a retaining wire. Each brush installs into a compatible holder to help maximize contact between the brush and conveyor when the brush is mounted.
