Bulk powder stations are designed to protect the user from airborne particulates and fumes generated during powder transfer operations Systems also feature a built-in Guardian 0 digital airflow monitor. If the face velocity falls below the setpoint for more than six seconds, an audible alarm sounds and a red light glows. The alarm can be muted. Airflow monitor features an LCD display of actual face velocity and an RS-232 port. Retaining rings are constructed of Type 304 stainless steel. One retaining ring is required; it should be slightly larger than the diameter of source container and a minimum of 5.1cm (2") smaller than the inner bag diameter. Polyethylene safety sleeves are fastened with a retaining band to the outside of the source container and access opening to help contain powders for easy clean up. The access opening cover provides a solid work surface. An extra transfer caddy is available to provide for easier material handling. Optional utility shelf kit has three epoxy-coated steel shelves. An ergonomic airfoil with Clean-Sweep openings enhances airflow while a zone-perforated rear baffle creates horizontal laminar airflow to maximize containment. Systems feature large interior dimensions to accommodate large balances and equipment. Systems are equipped with upper dilution air supplies, upper containment sash foils, an upper diffuser screen, side-entry airfoils, a true bag-in/bag-out filter disposal system, a 99.99% efficient HEPA filter, and a Minihelic pressure gauge. A front-mounted fluorescent lamp provides excellent visibility. Systems are constructed of epoxy-coated aluminum and steel and feature a 25.6cm (/32") I.D. exhaust collar, two utility ports, a left side-mounted waste chute, and side wiping seals to contain contaminants. The front sash and sides are constructed of 0.6cm (1/4") thick tempered safety glass. Hinged front sash features an ergonomic angle and pivots upward. The front sash has a 30.5cm (12") operating height and
The newly redesigned, patented* Protector Stream Laboratory Hood was engineered to be the best containing fume hood possible. Testing shows the Protector Stream easily meets containment per SEFA-1 low velocity hood standards when subjected to the ASHRAE 110 test protocol with results of less than 0.05 ppm leak rate when tested at 4.0 lap at OSHA-recognized 60 fpm face velocity. Using the concepts of fluid dynamics, Laconic engineers designed the Protector Stream Laboratory Hood to produce horizontal airflow, which reduces the tendencies for turbulence. The innovative and aerodynamic designs of the sash handle, air foil, upper dilution air supply and rear down flow baffle work in concert to produce horizontal airflow patterns that significantly reduce concentrations of chemical contaminants throughout the work area, particularly near the operator's breathing zone and at the work surface. Depending on sash position, tendencies for air turbulence, overtaxing and "the roll" frequently observed during traditional fume hood smoke tests are virtually eliminated. Safety is foremost, but energy savings is equally impressive. Operating a 6' Protector Stream Hood at 60 fpm face velocity, with the sash in its fully open position, requires only 690 CFM. Regardless of your desired operating face velocity, the Protector Stream yields the lowest required CFM. Energy savings translates to dollar savings. The Protector Stream Hood provides an excellent economic payback when compared to traditional by-pass hoods operated at 80 or 100 fpm. For even greater savings, the Protector Stream may be factory-prepared to accommodate a variable air volume system without the need for by-pass modifications.
