The Thermo Scientific Orion GD9156BNWP green, combination, epoxy body pH electrode has a silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) internal reference, glass fiber junction, and a waterproof Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector with 1 m cable. While most glass pH electrodes are manufactured with glass that contains lead, Thermo Scientific green electrodes meet Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) requirements, and contain no lead or mercury, for normal disposal. The unique double-junction reference system separates the sample from contact with silver ions, which means the electrode can be used with samples containing silver complexing or binding agents, such as tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane (TRIS or THAM), proteins, and sulfides. The electrode has a small hole, for refilling the KCl fill solution, which prolongs the electrode life.
