Note: TruZoom software must be tied to a Corvid Ultra serial number

This TruZoom 4K/UHD Scaling and Recording Software with Joystick Controller from AJA is used with your Corvid Ultra and TruScale hardware card and allows for realtime 4K recording, scaling, playback, and Region of Interest selection with timeline-based keyframe control. Included are the TruZoom software, a joystick controller, and one year of software updates. The software is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 8 operating systems.

TruZoom prodives the software and drivers necessary to control and take advantage of your Corvid Ultra's TruScale image processing capabilities. Together, they support a wide variety of video formats, including high frame rates of 48, 50, and 60 fps at 4K and UltraHD resolutions with 4:4:4 color. TruZoom's live scaling allows you to extract a Region of Interest from 4K and UHD images and scale that to HD for live broadcast and recording.

Easily select and isolate your Region of Interest using the external joystick controller. The timeline-based TruZoom interface provides complete keyframe control over all selection parameters. A USB cable for connecting the joystick controller to your PC comes included.

Recording TruZoom is able to input and record a wide range of video formats, including 720p, 1080p, 1080i, UltraHD, and 4K. High frame rates of 48, 50, and 60 fps are supported at all resolutions. Incoming video signals are saved to your local disk array as native resolution DPX files. These files can be played back in realtime within TruZoom. Because the DPX files are uncompressed with high data rates, it is recommended that the software is installed on workstation computer with high-speed RAID storage.

Canon C500 RAW data is also supported, with an additional licensing purchase. This optional upgrade allows C500 RAW data to be saved as native .rmf files.

Live Scaling Live scaling lets you use a single 4K camera to cover a live event. Capture a wide image of your scene, and from this 4K image TruZoom can extract a Region of Interest and scale that to HD resolution for broadcasting or recording. This gives you wide coverage with the added ability to be able to reframe your shots live or in post. When regions of interest are predictable, preset regions can be saved and recalled quickly, replicating the technique of switching between multiple cameras.

Playback,
TruZoom's user interface allows for complete keyframe control over the Region of Interest selection. Indicators in the interface show the Region of Interest that is being extracted, which can be selected and controlled using the external joystick or mouse controls.

Recorded files can be played back from the local drive array and a Region of Interest can be selected just like a live feed, but with the added ability to create keyframed variable-speed playback and freeze-frames. You can also create realtime pan and scan effects for live broadcast and event production.

Corvid Ultra
TruZoom is used in conjunction with AJA's Corvid Ultra and TruScale hardware cards. The Corvid Ultra with TruScale hardware provides the real-time input, processing, and output for TruZoom. The I/O connections can handle 3G, HD-SDI, 4K over SDI, and 4K HDMI with embedded and AES audio capabilities.
