Fully threaded CD-weld studs are suitable for fastening applications where male threads are needed for the full fastener length. They have a small projection that melts and fuses to the workpiece surface during welding, helping ensure usable threads extend to the top of the installed studs. CD-weld threaded studs are fasteners with a small projection, or pip, on the base that melts and bonds to the surface of the workpiece to create a permanent male thread. Also called capacitor discharge welds, they require lower levels of heat and less time to weld than other weld-mount studs, making them a good choice for thin, lightweight materials that should avoid excessive heating to prevent distortion. They are also suitable for applications that don't have room for a bottom- or top-projection weld stud. This listing is for pkg. of 1, 000.
