RTS SoundMate personal listening systems help overcome background noise and poor building acoustics that can make listening difficult for the hearing impaired listener. A RTS base station, portable beltpack transmitter, your choice of receivers, and a wide assortment of accessories allow you to meet the needs of individuals who require hearing assistance. These listening systems are even compatible with a variety of hearing instrument styles for hearing aid users. Let RTS, the acknowledged leader in personal assistive listening products, help you select the system that's right for any listening environment.

The PST-170 Belt PackTransmitter may be set to any one of the 17 channels which is displayed on the backlit LCD, and operates on frequencies in the 72-76 MHz band. It is lightweight, battery operated and includes a small lapel microphone for convenient portable use. The PST-170 has two audio input jacks. The Auxiliary input is designed to allow the use of audio devices such as teacher's aids or tape players. The second jack is normally used with a microphone and is located on the top panel. The PST-170 is also compatible with the E.D.R. feature of the SR-400.

The PST-170 Transmitter may be set to any one of 17 channels.

Two Transmitters cannot operate on the same channel unless separated by 300 feet (91 m) or more (which is the average maximum operating range). If two transmitters are operating on the same channel inside this perimeter, the receivers will pick up the FM signal of both transmitters, causing a squealing sound to be heard.

Antenna.
The transmitter uses a flexible wire "trailing" antenna that is permanently attached to comply with FCC Part 15 Rules. Do not cut or lengthen the antenna. Do not coil the antenna and place in your pocket. This is a tuned antenna and modification will shorten the range.

Audio Input.
There are 2 audio input jacks on the transmitter. One is the Auxiliary input designed to allow audio devices such as teachers aids or tape players to be used. The input jack is a 1/8 inch (3.5mm) stereo/mono jack. Typical input level is 100 mV RMS maximum for normal modulation. More than this input will cause the audio to "limit" which may sound unnatural. Reduce the input level, if this should happen, by turning down the input device. The second jack is the microphone input. This jack is located on the top panel "step" of the transmitter. The microphone is supplied with the transmitter but other types can be used as well.

The RTS AudioCom MS-2002 is a complete 2-channel master station and system power supply (24VDC, 2 Amps total power) in a single unit. Simply plug it into any AC power outlet from 100 to 240 volts, add a microphone or headset, connect intercom stations to the back panel, and you're ready to communicate. It has both 1- and 2-channel connectors, so you do not have to add a separate breakout box if you want to mix 1- and 2-channel stations.

The MS-2002 fits in a standard 19-inch equipment rack and is one
(1) rack unit high. The basic MS-2002 can communicate with two (2) intercom channels. This number can be increased by connecting optional EMS-4001 Expansion Stations. Each EMS-4001 adds four (4) addition channels, and up to four (4) of these expansion stations can be connected for a total of 18 channels.

Speaker Station or Headset Station
Use the built-in speaker for listening and add an optional MCP-90 series Gooseneck Panel Microphone for talkback. You can also turn off the speaker volume, and plug in headsets for private communication.
Voice Activated Microphone (VOX)
Separate controls adjust the voice activation level for the headset microphone and panel microphone inputs.
Public Address (PA) Output, with PA key
Use your intercom microphone to talk over a PA system.
Back-lit Keys
Improves visibility in low-light
Incoming Call Indications
Red flashing call light, with beep tone if desired.
Instantaneous Auto-Reset
Instantaneous Auto Reset (IAR), the newest technology in performance and safety, which uses a revolutionary new circuitry that dynamically monitors line fault conditions. Then, when the fault is removed, automatically brings individual power supply channels up.
Mic Kill Key
You can turn off all microphones on a channel to quickly clear the channel.
Program Input for Each Channel
Connect any line-level audio source for monitoring in the speaker or headset, or for routing to the intercom channel. The program audio to the channel can be set to interrupt while the MS-2002 operator is talking on the channel.
Binaural (Stereo) Listening with External Powered Speakers
You can connect external powered speakers and then monitor channel 1 and 2 as separate right and left audio.
Expandable
Add more channels by connecting optional EMS-4001 Expansion Stations. Each EMS-4001 adds four additional powered channels (up to eighteen channels).
Clear-Com Compatible.

Please Note! This item is just one component of a larger system. Please refer to the diagram for ideas and recommendations for your intercom system. The diagram shown above is an example of a system that would be a good basis for a multi-purpose facility, such as found in a community TV facility with two smaller studios, that can function as one, or at a convention center with divisible conference areas.

The Universal Beltpacks are portable user stations compatible with RTS, Audiocom, and Clear-Com party line systems. They are available in 1-channel and 2-channel versions. Both have the mode-sensing system configuration, meaning the beltpacks can determine what type of system they are installed into and configure themselves according to that system.

The BP-4000 and BP-5000 can be ordered with either a 4-pin male, 4-pin female, or a 5-pin female XLRconnector providing, a wide-range of headset options. Dynamic and electret headset microphones are supported.

Multiple programming options are available. To simplify programming, voice prompts guide the user through the menus. Beltpack are available in black only.

Once plugged in, the beltpacks automatically recognize the wiring scheme and configure the unit for either the Audiocom, RTS or Clear-Com format.

INTELLIGENT POWER MANAGEMENT
Due to a reduced power consumption up to 40 daisy-chained beltpacks can be powered by only one PS-20 power supply. A current pump circuit constantly monitors the cable length versus the actual current consumption to ensure the beltpacks receive the voltage they need.

ENHANCED TALK BUTTON CONTROL -
Offers the choice between "always on", "always off" or "switching". In addition to a blinking incoming call lamp as visual feedback, the BP-4000 single-channel beltpack from RTS provides the user with immediate haptic feedback of an incoming call using a vibration alert.

REMOTE KILL FUNCTION -
Allows any user to send an inaudible "microphone kill signal" which instantly mutes every beltpack mic in the partyline. This feature can be useful when a user inadvertently left the mic open. It is also possible to override the mic-kill function.

VOICE GUIDANCE EASY FACTORY DEFAULT RESET -
Short voice prompts help the user navigating through the menu options eliminating the need to configure internal jumpers or switches. The devices can be easily reset to factory defaults.

HEADSET CONNECTIVITY -
The unit is available with either 4- or 5-pin XLR headset connectors allowing for a wide range of headset options; both dynamic and electret headset microphones are supported.
