It comes with a pair of adult electrode pads with clear illustrations that tell you where to place them on the patient's chest. The pads are stored pre-connected to the AED to let you respond faster and are intended for adult use only, but you can use a pediatric electrode pad cartridge (sold separately) to allow this unit to treat patients under 8 years old or under 55 lb. Rescue data about the last use is stored in the device's internal memory, and can be transferred to a computer using the Philips HeartStart Event Review data management software. Once the pads are placed on the patient's body, this semi-automatic AED will prompt you to deliver the shock at the appropriate time using a simple button. During the rescue, voice instructions will help you administer treatment confidently until help arrives, and if you need help during the CPR phase you can activate assistance with a simple button. This prompts the AED to tell you where to place your hands for compressions and provides a metronome to follow, ensuring the correct compression rate for optimal chance of rescue success.

This AED is ready to deliver a shock to the patient in less than 10 seconds, saving precious time during the rescue and ensuring that the patient gets a shock as quickly as possible, should one be advised. To keep your AED ready to use at all times, this unit proactively completes a daily self-check so that you can be alerted of potential issues promptly and fix them. It also performs a check whenever a battery is installed.

The AED comes with an 8-year warranty on the device, and a 4-year warranty on the battery. The electrode pads have a 2-year life, and the battery has a 4-year standby life.
