Traditional corner beads are designed to fail. Dry wallers have been using corner bead to finish corners for nearly half a century. Unfortunately, its clean, straight finish rarely lasts more than a few weeks. Thats because the bead is merely nailed or crimped to the drywall (every 9 to 12 inches per specifications) and virtually floats on a pocket of air. As a result, the corner is extremely susceptible to common structural forces such as: Settling, Temperature Variations, Lumber Shrinkage, and Seismic Movements.
