It is often used to help a person who has inflammation of deficient Fire caused by Yin Deficiency of the Lungs and Kidneys. Related symptoms are: dry and painful throat; coughing and difficulty in breathing with bloody sputum; wheezing; night sweats; heat sensation in the hands and feet; Heat from Deficiency. Tongue is usually red with scanty coating. Pulse is usually thin and rapid. Contraindication: It is not for a person who has coughing caused by Shi (excessive) syndromes.
