This connecting pipe between the engine and the intercooler not only improves flow, but the polished aluminum will dress up your engine bay at the same time. A generous 3.5 in diameter, it will dramatically improve flow through the intercooler.Air exiting the compressor side of the turbocharger is hot, and not in a good way. So it's routed through the intercooler, essentially a big radiator, to cool off before it goes into the engine. Cooler air is denser, and denser air makes more power because there's more of it per cubic inch. So why strangle your engine with restrictive plumbing back and forth to the intercooler.
