This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. The live center is found in Jet wood lathes. This part is made of metal, and is used to hold the end of the wood to be worked, allowing it to spin freely with the motion of the motor on the other end. When placing the wood onto the live end, do not use the handwheel to set the wood. Instead, use a rubber mallet to pound the end onto the wood, then use the handwheel to secure the live end on the quill. When replacing this part, you will need the tool included with the machine.
