The classroom function provides an outside lever that can be locked and unlocked by key and the inside lever always that is always unlocked. VandlgardTM is designed to disengage the outside spindle from the latch when in the locked position. The locked outside lever freely rotates up and down while remaining securely locked. The free-wheeling lever eliminates the ability to exert excessive force or to stand on the lever, preventing damage to internal lock components.
