Tone and Probe Kit | TREND Networks (formerly IDEAL Networks) The Tone and Probe Kit allows a user to trace and test all types of copper cables commonly found in domestic, commercial, or industrial voice, data, or video installations, including telephone wiring, data networks, electrical and COAX cabling. Features This cable tracing set is perfectly paired to accurately identify cable pairing using its multiple tone pattern feature in up to 20km of cabling. It’s fast and easy to use thanks to the visual signal indicators and powerful speaker combination. The Tone Generator can transmit two different audio tone signals (500Hz to 3KHz) via it’s built-in RJ45 port. It also helps with troubleshooting thanks to its range of test functions. It has four resistance continuity and polarity testing, voltage indication, and telephone handset power support and checks functionality. The analog probe comes with volume control to help with the detection of transmitted audio without modifying the signal in cables under trace. To help with functioning in dark or noisy environments the tool is equipped with an LED torch and a 3.5mm mono/stereo headphone jack. Both work on 9V alkaline batteries (PP3) and support V9 NMH and Li-ion rechargeable batteries (not incl). Under normal tone testing function the Amplifier Probe and Tone Generator can operate up to 50 and 70 hours respectively. The Tone Generator comes with a three-hour auto-off function.
