Cast Iron is the standard metal wheel used by most unless a heavier capacity or greater impact strength metal wheel is needed. For applications requiring more capacity or impact strength, check out the ductile steel & forged steel wheel caster options. Please note that all 2" wide wheels are heavy duty cast iron & come with thicker treads, stronger spokes, & larger hub diameter compared to the standard cast iron.Whilecast ironis very strong, it is tough on floors and could lead to floor damage. For heavy duty floor protective wheels, be sure to check out our polyurethane wheels.*Please note temperature ratings are dependent upon the bearing selected. Unless noted otherwise in the options, bearings will have a 180??F temperature rating.
High Temperature HeatEater caster wheels have a temperature range up to 475????F continuous and 550????F intermittent. Made of a glass filled nylon mixture, these caster wheels can be used in both wet and dry high temperature applications. The hard tread rolls easily and is resistant to oil, grease, most acids, chemicals, and cleaning solutions. All these features make this one of our favorite high temp wheels! If higher temperature wheels are needed and floor protection is not a concern, check out our steel wheel casters with temperatures up to 1,300????F.Temp Range: -70oF to +550oF

Rubber on nylon wheels offer a smooth, quiet, & cushioned ride that will protect floors for an economical price. The nylon core provides equivalent load and impact capacities when compared to cast iron cores, but is rust free and can be used for applications requiring wash downs, high humidity, and outdoor environments. The down side to rubber wheels is they can leave marks on the floor similar to car tires on a road and they have lower capacities compared to other wheels. If you need a non-marking wheel or more capacity, we recommend our thermoplastic rubber wheels or polyurethane wheels. We would not recommend rubber wheels for applications that require sitting in one spot for long periods of time under heavy loads.
